Ancient Olympia Excursion

With this tour  you will see the Ancient Olympia , the  city where the Olympic  Games  were  born.

Your tour  will start  from  Athens to see Kallimármaro,  the Panathenaic Stadium -also known as the is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble.  This Stadium hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.  Your trip will continue by passing the  the Canal (Isthmus) of Corinth. The Isthmus of Corinth is a narrow strip of land that connects mainland Greece to Peloponnese, while the canal drilled across it connects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf, thus connecting the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea.

We continue to Ancient Olympia to visit the site and Museums.  The first Olympic Games took place in 776 B.C. Olympia became the most important religious and athletic center in Greece. During the  Olympic Games all the wars in Greece were stopped. You must visit the Temple of Zeus, one of the 7 wonders of the Ancient world. the most celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece. Phedias had created the gold and ivory statue, continue your visit to Hera’s temple, the Council house where the athletes took the Olympic oath, the Treasury houses, the Gymnasium and the Palestra, where they used to exercise  prior to the Games.  After your   visit  you enjoy a light  lunch  to taste the  local food  before your  return to Athens.
